Church Planting
Starting new churches is one of the major challenges for Middle District but is a significant part of our mission. We are interested in starting all forms of churches: traditional, contemporary, house churches, multi-sites, and missional communities that meet in schools, homes and regular church type facilities. They will not look the same.
If you would like more information on starting a church or joining a team of people who feel called of God to start a new church, please contact our Executive Director, Jim Hamacher.
Whether new or seasoned, see below for more ways MDBA can help your church:
Strengthening Churches
Included in Middle District’s purpose statement is our desire to “strengthen” churches”. If your particular need is not represented on this list below or in the “resources” section of this site, please contact the Middle District office and we will do our best to help.
Re-visioning / Strategic Planning / Fellowship of Transitioning Churches
Through prayer and planning your church can “re-dream your dream” for ministry. Many styles of planning are available. The Executive Director can help your church leadership decide what is the best approach in discerning God’s direction for your congregation’s future. One of the most effective approach’s available is Middle District’s “Fellowship of Transitioning Churches” which is a “turn-around” strategy that is a 12 – 18 month process.
Spiritual Renewal
Many churches consider a series of worship services with a preacher as their primary tool for revival. However, other approaches have also been used by God to significantly impact congregational life. Church-wide studies, lay renewal weekends, small group studies are other ways that God has blessed His church in recent years. The Executive Director will be happy to discuss ideas and resources that might best fit your church at this time in its spiritual development.
Church Health / Conflict Management
Every church has conflict. But few leaders know how to deal with that conflict in a healthy, productive way. When conflict becomes significant, the question is how to work through disagreements and different viewpoints to preserve or restore the unity of the church and facilitate its growth and ministry. Talk to Dr. Hamacher who will help you consider what are the best next steps in the life of the church.
Personal – Professional Coaching for Ministers
Sometimes a person can benefit from guidance beyond attending a seminar or reading a book. Personal coaching is available to Middle District ministry leaders, both lay and ordained.
Marriage Enrichment
Marriage Enrichment speakers and retreat leaders are available to you through Middle District. Also videos and books for your retreat or small group seminar can be found in our media library.
